Read an existing instance.

One cash shift against a cashier: opens with a float, accumulates typed cash movements, and closes against an operator count. Expected balance = opening float + cash in - cash out; variance = counted - expected, recorded as declared data (the over/short), never a GL posting. Single-currency by design — a multi-currency desk opens one session per currency. Closed sessions are immutable; corrections are compensating transactions in the next session.
