A per-stay physical or virtual credential — the room key card, wristband, or mobile key — bound to a stay so the opaque vendor token a reader picks up at tap time resolves to the stay’s open folio. The token is a locator, never an authenticator (card UIDs are clonable): resolution requires status = active, an unexpired expires_at, and an in-house stay, and every posting is bounded by the credential’s per_charge_cap / daily_cap. Check-out revokes every credential on the stay — a dropped card in the express-checkout box must fail closed.

Per-property source attribution and pins. An entry under properties means the property’s current value came from that source (on the source’s own clock, source_updated_at); an entry under pins is a human override protecting the property from sourced writes.

Section titled “Headers”Quoted strong validator (RFC 7232 §2.3) carrying the object’s monotonic version. Informational on the read path — object mutation goes through typed actions on /v1/actions/{action}/apply, not raw CRUD.
